Through volunteer work, sponsorship, and pro bono services, I have supported the following organizations and events:
The Julia’s Wings Foundation is a non-profit organization that provides financial assistance to families of children with life threatening hematological diseases and to medical professionals for healthcare research. The foundation was formed by the parents of Julia Malsin, who passed away on January 27, 2012, at the age of 13. She was an amazing person, with an equally amazing family, from my town of Sherman. Her grandparents are my neighbors.
New Fairfield/Sherman Animal Welfare Society is a private, non-profit organization established in 1977, and it is my local animal shelter. They have helped and continue to help so many animals find new, loving homes.
Located in Brookfield, Connecticut, this is where my daughter takes dance lessons. Ms. Dody Flynn is the director and is one of the most kind, yet firm, dance teachers I’ve ever known. She resides in Sandy Hook, Connecticut with her family. Even after tragedy struck in Sandy Hook in December 2012, she remained a strong and brave force in the dance community.
Under the direction of Deanne Petriccione, the Brookfield School of Performing Arts is a traditional, non-competitive school. My daughter participated in their wonderful holiday spectacular, Tis the Season Holiday Show, in 2013, and had so much fun.
The Sherman Library is my local library and it is a community resource, freely available to all. The library responds to the public’s need for information, education and recreation. With books at its core, the library provides a wide range of materials, both print and non-print. It is the community’s center for lifelong learning. And my daughter loves to go there!
